Because they love their Grandpa

After a couple years I was able to take the Schroeder’s portraits again!   Grandpa was in town and they wanted a special extended family portrait as a gift for him.  We met at Kays Creek Parkway and walked up the path to the area on the very north end where I usually like to take portraits.  The path was closed… but we went there anyway!;)  (We’ll do anything for good photographs!!)  Well we braved the construction, and the mosquitos (and there were a lot) but the portraits are gorgeous!  Salina, thanks so much for having me!  I hope we can do it again really soon!!

Headshots

So about 3 o’clock this afternoon I got a call while I was standing in my husband’s favorite fountain pen shop, in his favorite mall (Trolley Square.) We had just gone out for a lunch together, and were taking a little time before he had to get back.  The lovely mother on the phone I answered needed headshots for her kids.  She was hoping around 4.  I told her I was certain it would be fine and I’d call her back as soon as I got back home because I didn’t have my planner.  She sounded confused, but said OK and we hung up.  A second later I looked at my watch, it was now after three and I realized why she was so confused! lol.  I had an hour to get my husband back to work, get through traffic from Salt Lake, (which doesn’t seem to ever be clear anymore.)  I still had to grab my gear, get to the park, and set-up for the photo session!  By 4:30 we were done and by 6 they were all printed and going off to the judges for their auditions!  Such fun beautiful, talented kids.  I’m so grateful it was as clear as it was today so I could meet them!  So excited to meet the rest of your famliy very soon! !

Boys, Boys, Boys!!

I have all boys, so I feel a special bond with other moms of lego loving, soccer playing boys!!  I had a great time taking their photographs!  Stephanie’s boys are so kind, polite, and helpful.  It was a pleasure to photograph them!  It’s always a little different to me to photograph families of kids 8 and older.  I am so used to making images of families with 1 year olds and 2 year olds…  having kids that were looking at the camera without me having to sing and dance was really quite different, lol:)  and fun!!

So wonderful to spent my evening with you Lindstrom family!!  Looking forward to when we can do it again!

Rainey Stop Growing Up!!!

I’ve been photographing this family for a number of years… I believe this is the fourth, and I just can’t handle how fast these kids are growing, especially Rainey.  She is long and so adorable, I just can’t handle it!  Slow down!

Ok, now that I’ve gotten that out of system… they are all adorable!!  The Petersen’s are such great friends!  We appreciate their family so much, and I’m so grateful I’ve been able to be a part of capturing these precious moments of their growing adorable children!  I am excited for what the future will bring Beautiful Petersen family!

Such Beautiful Children

Look at these beautiful kids!  Such sweethearts!  I had so much fun a few weeks ago taking portraits of these cute little siblings and there cousin.  Photographing children is always full of singing, coaxing, a bit of bribery, and… sometimes crying.  However, if you wait for the right moment you often strike gold.  Aren’t these beautiful children!

Zach is going on a Mission!

What a pleasure it has been in the past year and a half to photograph and get to know (as much as you can through photography sessions) this handsome young man!  It all started with Zach’s Senior portraits at the end of last school year, then we took his family portraits, and then we photographed the Wayment family (his mother’s side, and then the large England family. (his father’s side).. and now we’ve come full circle back to Zach and his missionary portraits!  What I have learned about him is that he is kind to others, honors his parents, courteous, considerate, shy, humble, driven, and obediant, and because of those traits will be a wonderful missionary!  Zach also loves being in front of the camera!  Ok that last part is not true… but obviously he is good at it, because they look awesome!  Zach our prayers will be with you, have a wonderful mission!

Bucks Couldn’t Be Anymore Beautiful!

A couple weeks ago I did a photo-shoot with my family and was able to take the images of my sister Becca’s family and all of her kids.  They all turned out so good.  The Ogden Botanical Garden’s has so many beautiful hidden little places to photograph, but really it’s good light that matters, and there is plenty of that too, (and it helps a bit that I bring some along with me!)  I love photographing children, but I think it’s so special to take images of my nieces and nephews and watch them grow.  Such beautiful kids!  Thanks for having me to do again Bucks, they look so great!

Our Thorne boys are Lookin’ Sharp!

Valentine’s day was awesome for me!  I went with my buddies Bryce and Aiden, (and their mom Trina, who is my friend:) to the Ogden temple.  Bryce is turning 8 soon and getting baptized, and Aiden is turning 12!  Such wonderful accomplishments!  I’ve watch these two grow up… literally.  I moved into my house almost a year before Aiden was born.  For about the first year and a half of Aiden’s life I sat by him in church and rubbed is fuzzy head for luck… his hair was so soft!  And my boys love Bryce!  They could play with him forever.  We love their family and especially these sweet boys!!  Congratulations on your choices fellas!  We are very proud of you!

And then he was 8… and Baptized!

My sweet little Garrison was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints on Saturday.  I’m so proud of my sweet little man.  It’s great to be 8! He had a bit of a rushed start as a preemie baby, sick in the ICU, early intervention, Sped pre-school… and now he’s doing so well.  He likes to read, he’s very good at math, he loves his drama class, and he is wild about anything that moves!!  He says he’s going to the moon… which would be very cool…. however, the rest of us see him as a zoologist, and more specifically an entomologist, ’cause he sure loves those bugs!!  (It’s true he is currently carrying around his jar of caterpillars anxiously waiting for them to turn to chrysalids, lol.)

I’m so proud of this little fighter!  He’s made such a big, important decision.  I know as he continues to Choose the Right his testimony will grow and he will one day be a wonderful missionary!  Until then here’s my little Baptism boy… and some cute brothers too!

Little Angel Turns 1!

I love to take photographs of children, so a couple weeks ago when Jamie Brand called me to take her daughter Amelia’s 1 year photographs, I was so excited!  What a sweetie!  I sometimes forget how it is to have someone that small!  My kids are getting too big, and even my 3 year old doesn’t let me call him my baby any more!  So sad!  This session was so much fun for me!  Jamie had lots of balloons, and we blew bubbles, and we even got to sing and dance to Moana!!  A lot!!  What could be better!! lol!  Happy Birthday little Amelia!  You are such a beautiful girl!!
