Rainey Stop Growing Up!!!

I’ve been photographing this family for a number of years… I believe this is the fourth, and I just can’t handle how fast these kids are growing, especially Rainey.  She is long and so adorable, I just can’t handle it!  Slow down!

Ok, now that I’ve gotten that out of system… they are all adorable!!  The Petersen’s are such great friends!  We appreciate their family so much, and I’m so grateful I’ve been able to be a part of capturing these precious moments of their growing adorable children!  I am excited for what the future will bring Beautiful Petersen family!

Such Beautiful Children

Look at these beautiful kids!  Such sweethearts!  I had so much fun a few weeks ago taking portraits of these cute little siblings and there cousin.  Photographing children is always full of singing, coaxing, a bit of bribery, and… sometimes crying.  However, if you wait for the right moment you often strike gold.  Aren’t these beautiful children!

Thomsons… Bribery… Weeds… and… Moana!

I had the privileged of photographing the Thomson’s again this year… so fun!!  We went to Kays Creek Parkway, which is packed with photographers this time of year, but we were able to get some beautiful images and have a great time doing it!  (Well we might have gone 15 minutes too long for dad, lol:)  It was a fun filled night of pulling weeds out of the way, bribing kids with fruit snacks, more pulling weeds out of the way, bribing with graham crackers… there might have been some more pulling weeds out of the way… then a bit of a puppet show… and even some viewing of the movie Moana!  It was so worth it!  We made fun memories and beautiful images!  Can’t wait until next time!  Thanks for the fun night Thomson family!  PS next time I’ll remember scissors to help with getting the weeds out of the way!:)

Zach is going on a Mission!

What a pleasure it has been in the past year and a half to photograph and get to know (as much as you can through photography sessions) this handsome young man!  It all started with Zach’s Senior portraits at the end of last school year, then we took his family portraits, and then we photographed the Wayment family (his mother’s side, and then the large England family. (his father’s side).. and now we’ve come full circle back to Zach and his missionary portraits!  What I have learned about him is that he is kind to others, honors his parents, courteous, considerate, shy, humble, driven, and obediant, and because of those traits will be a wonderful missionary!  Zach also loves being in front of the camera!  Ok that last part is not true… but obviously he is good at it, because they look awesome!  Zach our prayers will be with you, have a wonderful mission!

Bucks Couldn’t Be Anymore Beautiful!

A couple weeks ago I did a photo-shoot with my family and was able to take the images of my sister Becca’s family and all of her kids.  They all turned out so good.  The Ogden Botanical Garden’s has so many beautiful hidden little places to photograph, but really it’s good light that matters, and there is plenty of that too, (and it helps a bit that I bring some along with me!)  I love photographing children, but I think it’s so special to take images of my nieces and nephews and watch them grow.  Such beautiful kids!  Thanks for having me to do again Bucks, they look so great!

Shakespear’s at the Gardens

It’s so fun to create images for my family.  My sister Kaydee’s family is gorgeous! I love being with them, my kids love playing with them, and they make beautiful images!  Last year I learned about the Ogden Botanical gardens.  There is a row of trees that is perfect for beautiful directional light, and most photographers photograph there because of the many types of beautiful flowers.  For Kaydee and Paul’s family we got to give them a little of both areas for variety in there images!  I hope you love them because I love them all!:)

Just around the river bend… with the Bowlers!

Years ago I met a little man in nursery at church.  His dad had to stay with him often because he had a hard time adjusting, like most 18 month little ones do.  One day I brought out the letter mats that locked together like puzzle pieces, and made them into a trail. He watched what I was doing pretty intently, and then smiled and laughed as I started skipping along them.  After that my little friend Cameron was hooked.  He followed right behind me (because it was so fun of course;) and he had a great time in nursery everyday after… well, mostly from what I remember;)!

I love this Bowler family!  We’ve taken Cameron’s pictures, maternity pictures, Lincoln’s baby pictures, and more studio family pictures.  Now Cameron is 4 and Lincoln is 1 year old!  I really am in denial about it, but it was time for family pictures again!  I hunted for an awesome place to take pictures in early spring and Brittany loved the path below Nichol’s park in Kaysville.  I’ve shot there before in the summer and in the fall, but never the spring… and never with a river.  It is all dried up by the summer.  So fun to be able to get some beautiful environmental portraits of the awesome family with the winding river!  I’ve loved photographing you guys.  Can’t wait to do it again!

And then he was 8… and Baptized!

My sweet little Garrison was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints on Saturday.  I’m so proud of my sweet little man.  It’s great to be 8! He had a bit of a rushed start as a preemie baby, sick in the ICU, early intervention, Sped pre-school… and now he’s doing so well.  He likes to read, he’s very good at math, he loves his drama class, and he is wild about anything that moves!!  He says he’s going to the moon… which would be very cool…. however, the rest of us see him as a zoologist, and more specifically an entomologist, ’cause he sure loves those bugs!!  (It’s true he is currently carrying around his jar of caterpillars anxiously waiting for them to turn to chrysalids, lol.)

I’m so proud of this little fighter!  He’s made such a big, important decision.  I know as he continues to Choose the Right his testimony will grow and he will one day be a wonderful missionary!  Until then here’s my little Baptism boy… and some cute brothers too!

Faerber Family Fun

For the past couple of years my son Charlie has played soccer with his friend Luke Faerber.  Last year they played for Wasatch, and this year they both started playing for Athletico.  Anybody that has a kid in a competition sports know that you spend A LOT of time going to practices and games!  During one of those games I met Luke’s lovely grandma Rayanna who asked me to Photograph Her, and her husband, with all of there kids and grandkids.  I love working with large families!  I love the dynamics of all their different personalities, the energy of the kids, and I love making heirloom portraiture they can always treasure! Thank you Rayanna for letting me be a part of making these beautiful memories!

Dasek’s Do it Again!!

We succeeded in taking a Fall Portraits!!  Wahoo!!  I think my kids have gotten use to freezing smiles on their faces while I run back and forth to the camera.  This year was a bit easier then running around the park after my 3 year old like I did last year, trying to get a decent shot!:)  Now if we can just work on Alex letting us do his hair right away instead of chasing him around the house for 15 min. so we could leave on-time, pictures would be a dream!  It can be daunting, but we did it!!  I’ve already started getting my mounted prints!  Metals come today and my canvas on Thursday!  Merry early Christmas to me!!
