Bradford’s 2022

For the first 17 years of our married life we lived in the same home in East Layton.  One of the families that we became friends with when we moved in was the Bradfords.  She became the ward choir pianist when I was the director, and is so talented we sang pieces she wrote.  My oldest was born just a months after her youngest so it was fun to have kids close in age.  Since they moved we she became my Mary Kay lady (to make sure I see her every so often,) and we even went to Garth Brooks together a couple months ago.  Such wonderful people, and so photogenic!!  We are so grateful they are our friends!

Standing Family 2019

I met a wonderful family the other day, and had the privilege of spending the evening with them and capturing a very special time of their lives. Edward, one of their awesome sons was leaving on a mission a few days later and they wanted to make sure they captured the special time before he left.

What a wonderful family they are! Loving, sweetly sarcastic, respectful and encouraging of one another. It’s because of families like the Standing family that I spend time away from mine during this busy time of year. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to spend an evening with you! What wonderful people you are!

Zach is going on a Mission!

What a pleasure it has been in the past year and a half to photograph and get to know (as much as you can through photography sessions) this handsome young man!  It all started with Zach’s Senior portraits at the end of last school year, then we took his family portraits, and then we photographed the Wayment family (his mother’s side, and then the large England family. (his father’s side).. and now we’ve come full circle back to Zach and his missionary portraits!  What I have learned about him is that he is kind to others, honors his parents, courteous, considerate, shy, humble, driven, and obediant, and because of those traits will be a wonderful missionary!  Zach also loves being in front of the camera!  Ok that last part is not true… but obviously he is good at it, because they look awesome!  Zach our prayers will be with you, have a wonderful mission!

Dasek’s Do it Again!!

We succeeded in taking a Fall Portraits!!  Wahoo!!  I think my kids have gotten use to freezing smiles on their faces while I run back and forth to the camera.  This year was a bit easier then running around the park after my 3 year old like I did last year, trying to get a decent shot!:)  Now if we can just work on Alex letting us do his hair right away instead of chasing him around the house for 15 min. so we could leave on-time, pictures would be a dream!  It can be daunting, but we did it!!  I’ve already started getting my mounted prints!  Metals come today and my canvas on Thursday!  Merry early Christmas to me!!

Zach

The other day I went and spent the evening with Zach and Allison England.  We went to the Ogden Botanical Gardens and found many great places to take some awesome senior portraits!  Zach was a great sport! He was happy to pose how I asked, and he was also very happy when we were done!:)  I think we created some awesome images, and I’m so excited to spend some more time with Zach and Allison, and get to know the rest of the England family as we take their family portraits in June!

Congrats on graduating Zach!!  You are in for a great adventure!!

KAYLA

I had fun creating headshots for my Thespian friend Kayla, last Wednesday. There are so many words that describe this sweet girl, that I really couldn’t pick one.  Charismatic, talented, kind, caring, smart, selfless, musical, theatrical, beautiful… so many more.  I’ve known her many years, and have taught her voice lessons and piano lessons for 4 of those years… she is just amazing.  She’s fun to teach, and so willing to learn and to practice, and she has a great desire to succeed.  Her mom teases that she might want to be like me when she grows up; sings, plays the piano, loves theater, just started playing the cello…  The funny thing is if I had a daughter I would hope that she was a little bit like Mackayla Thorne.  Beautiful inside and out.

Sara Arrington FNP

Last week a good friend, and neighbor of mine, said that her sister needed some new headshots.  Sara Arrington is opening Heart and Soul Family medicine on April 5th, so we got out and photographed her right away.  I’d never met Sara before but after a couple hours of being with her I feel like we’re already good friends.  She was kind, gentle with my kids, and you can really tell she cares about you.  I wish her the best in her new family practice!!  Hope we get to do it about really soon!
